In the House of Tom Bombadil

This entire chapter was left out of the film. This chapter was one of the more controversial omissions from the film since it is a favourite for many fans. It's omission wasn't too surprising though. It is quite different from the tone of the rest of the book and would have been difficult to include in the movie without disrupting the flow of the story. A brief description of what it contains is provided below.

This chapter describes the hobbits' stay with Tom Bombadil and his wife Goldberry. They stayed there for two nights before continuing on their journey.
