Fangorn Forest
Home of the ents or tree shepherds.
Mirkwood Forrest
Formerly known as Greenwood the Great. This forest was the location of the Silvan elf kingdom of Thranduil (father of Legolas). When Bilbo and his group travelled through Mirkwood they also encountered giant spiders and stayed at the home of Beorn (leader of the beorning men).
Moria
The ancient city of Moria (meaning black chasm) was built by the dwarves under the Misty Mountains.
Osgiliath

The Shire
The shire was a peaceful land inhabited by hobbits.
