Middle Earth

The name Middle Earth is often mistakenly used to refer to the world that J. R. R. Tolkien's stories are set in. The name of that world is actually Eä or Arda (the realm). Middle Earth is the name of a continent within the world of Arda where many of the stories take place. The lands of Middle Earth included regions such as Beleriand, Eriador and Rhovanion. All of the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings took place in Middle Earth.
