Description
Galadriel was the daughter of the elven lord Finarfin. Her brothers were Orodreth, Angrod, Aegnor and Finrod Felagund (founder and king of Nargothrond). Galadriel was said to be the most beautiful of all the house of Finwë (her grandfather). She was one of leaders of the noldor rebellion against the Valar who left Valinor to make war against Morgoth.
Galadriel later married Celeborn, an elf from the kingdom of Doriath. Celeborn was related to Thingol the king of Doriath. After the end of the third age, Galadriel and Celeborn moved eastwards to the wood of Loth Lórien, where they ruled the elves who lived in that land.
At the end of the Third Age, Galadriel sailed away from Middle Earth with the other remaining ring bearers.

Galadriel in the Peter Jackson film was played by Cate Blanchett.
