Who Are LDS

LDS is an abbreviation used to refer to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who are also refered to as Mormons.

We are a church with a strong emphasis on families and family values. We believe that the church is led by Jesus Christ who directs members of his church through his chosen prophet as in times of old. The prophet currently leading the church is Gordon B. Hinckley.

The scriptures used by our church are the Holy Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price. A brief overview of our beliefs is contained in the Articles of Faith.

As members of the church of Jesus Christ, we invite all people to hear his gospel so that they can find out for themselves if this is his true church.
To quote from the prophet Moroni, who said of the Book of Mormon:

Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.
And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

Moroni 10:3-5
